ICAI's Board of Studies has released the Mock Test Paper (MTP) calendar for the September 2026 cycle. CA Intermediate's Series I starts 25 July — Foundation's starts 10 August. Here's the exact paper-wise schedule, how to register, and the free live revision sessions running alongside them.
Two levels, two mock test windows, both free and optional. Intermediate students appearing in September 2026 get first crack at their MTPs — Foundation's window opens about two weeks later.

All six papers appear in both series, roughly two days apart, so you can revise a subject between test attempts and re-test it a few weeks later in Series II.

Foundation's four papers are spread roughly two days apart across each series, mirroring the actual September exam's own alternating-day structure.
More detail on each paper: Accounting, Business Laws, Quantitative Aptitude, Business Economics.
MTPs run in two formats. Virtual mode means downloading the question paper from the BoS Knowledge Portal or BoS MTP Registration Portal — question papers go live by 9:30 AM on the scheduled date — and attempting it on your own within the prescribed time, exam-style. Physical mode means sitting the test at an ICAI branch or regional office; contact your nearest branch for registration and venue details if you'd rather test under supervised conditions.
To register on the BoS MTP Registration Portal: log in via Student Login, or if you're new, register using your ICAI registration number and date of birth, verify via the email ID on record with SSP, and complete an OTP-based login. Once you've submitted a paper, ICAI uploads the official answer key within 48 hours so you can self-evaluate against ICAI's own model answers rather than guessing at your score.
Running alongside the MTPs, ICAI's Board of Studies (Academic) has also announced free virtual guidance sessions — "Success at CA Exam BoS" — conducted by BoS faculty and subject experts, aimed at clarifying concepts and sharpening exam strategy ahead of the September 2026 papers.
Timed the way ICAI has scheduled it, the sequence makes sense: attempt Series I of the MTPs, get your answer key back, then join the live sessions to clear up whatever the mock test exposed — before sitting Series II as a final check.
Nobody grades your MTP centrally and it has zero bearing on your actual result — which is exactly why it's a low-stakes way to find out what you don't know yet. The real value isn't the paper itself; it's the 48-hour turnaround on an official answer key, which is the closest you'll get to ICAI's own marking logic before the real thing. Attempting both series under strict timing, then comparing your answers line-by-line against the key rather than just checking your final numbers, is what actually converts an MTP into exam readiness rather than just another practice paper.
